July 2011 :
Peace and Plenty along with Mahmoud Salem and other Egyptian bloggers held a “Tweetback” event which became Egypt’s first social media-driven humanitarian fundraising initiative to support the work at Ezbet Khairallah. Tweetback managed to raise over LE 1.3 million in less than 10 days. Read Mahmoud Salem's (aka: "Sandmonkey") description of the initiative. And read about the results in the Daily News Egypt Article.
A special thanks goes to Mobinil, as a main sponsor.
Xceed also contributed to the fundraising.
